Review of Jeff Clark Trader – Scam or Legit?

Is the Jeff Clark Trader newsletter service as good as it is claimed to be? Is it worth subscribing to?

Or... is Jeff Clark Trader a scam service that you would be better off avoiding altogether?

Of course it is promoted as being incredible, as we are told all about big winning investment recommendations Jeff has provided... and told stories of people making nice amounts of fast money...

And Jeff even goes as far as to say that:

"Over the next few months, I believe you could have several opportunities to make $500… $1,000… $5,000... or more depending on your situation, in very little time."

It sounds great, but this certainly isn't the first time I've come across an investment advisory service that has said similar things along these lines... and then turned out to be pretty disappointing.

So, anyways... I decided to do some digging around to see how good this service really is.

Enjoy my review. In it I'll discuss what exactly the service provides, cost & refunds, performance, complaints and more.

What Is Jeff Clark Trader?

Jeff Clark Trader

Overview

Jeff Clark Trader is an investment advisory service provided by veteran trader Jeff Clark in which he provides subscribers with investment recommendations on a regular basis.

The service is specifically focused on options trading and retails for $199/yr, although discounts are available.

*The short video below does a great job at explaining how options work if you are new to this form of investing.

Because of the follow-along style of the service, there is no knowledge of options trading needed to get started, although it's never a good idea to simply follow along blindly.

That said, the performance of the recommendations made via this service have been pretty good so far (at the time of this review).

Who Is Jeff Clark?

Jeff has over 15 years of experience editing newsletters. He used to work as an analyst/editor for Casey Research but supposedly left in 2015 when the company got sold to Stansberry Research. That said, on Casey Research's website there are still new articles being written by him... so I'm not sure what the deal is.

Anyhow, he has quite a lengthy background in providing investment advise via newsletter services and has since founded his own advisory service, which we know is at JeffClarkTrader.com.

Before all of this he founded his own brokerage house and private money management firm, through which he handled millions of client dollars, and which allowed him to semi-retire at the age of 42 (the reason I say "semi-retire" is because he is still working to edit his newsletter services)

Overall he has a pretty good background... the type of background you want to see from someone providing a service like this.

How It Works

Like many other investment advisory services, such as The Casey Report & Strategic Trader, Jeff Clark Trader provides actionable advice that anyone can follow along with regardless of experience or knowledge trading options.

In a nutshell, subscribers are told what to invest in and when to invest in it.

While investing in options has more potential to bring in quick profits than investing in stocks, they also carry more risk. The good news is that Jeff's strategy is keep the amount of trades going on low, and he often recommends options for well-known large-cap stocks.

As a subscriber you get access to:

  • Monthly Trades - Each month, around the 3rd Thursday, Jeff will recommend a new trade. This will come along with information and analyses on why he recommends the said trades.
  • Regular Updates - When it's time to sell a position, or when there is anything important that should be known, subscribers will receive updates. These could be given at any time.
  • Video Training - A video training series provides all the basics for those who are just starting options trading.
  • Special Report - There is also a special report provided to subscribers in which Jeff provides subscribers with his "3-Stock Retirement Blueprint", which lists 3 trades he recommends getting in right away.

Much of the promotional material is for Jeff's "3-Stock Retirement Blueprint". This is used as a lure to bring in new subscribers for the Jeff Clark Trader service.

Cost & Refunds

The normal cost is $199/yr. However, there seem to almost always be promotions going on and at the time of this review there is a special discount offer for only $19/yr, which is a huge price drop.

However, be aware that there are NO REFUNDS.

Instead of providing refunds they have a 90-day policy in which they provide credit towards another subscription service they offer. So if you aren't satisfied with the service within 90 days your only option will be to try another one of their services.

*Note: You should also be aware that once you subscribe your card will be billed automatically the following year unless you cancel.

Performance

The great news about Jeff Clark and the services he provides is that he is very transparent with their performance... which many other advisory services are not.

As you can see below, he has made some big losing recommendations, but overall there has been a high net-profit...

Complaints

Misleading Marketing

The marketing almost makes it seem like some jackpot... some sure-fire way to get rich, which certainly isn't the truth.

Jeff talks about his best trades but conveniently (for him) forgets to mention any losing recommendations.

No Refunds

Then there is the fact that no refunds are offered, which I think is BS. With an online subscription service such as this, offering refunds doesn't get any easier.

Who would want credit? Then you only have several other advisory services to choose from, which most people probably won't be interested in.

Pros v Cons

Pros
  • Well laid out (training, recommendations, alerts)
  • Easy to follow
  • Advice from a professional trader (Jeff)
  • Big discounts available
  • Low barrier of entry - options trading requires less startup capital
Cons
  • No refunds
  • Over-hyped marketing can lead to big let-downs
  • Risk involved (as with any investment opportunity)

Conclusion - Worth Subscribing To?

This is a question you will have to decide on for yourself. It all depends on what you are looking for. Are you looking for a follow-along style service like this and are you interested in options trading? Then it might be worth giving a try.

When it comes to investment newsletters with transparent track-records your options are low. However, this does provide a clear record and another newsletter service that I recommend (also transparent) is Stock Advisor by Motley Fool.

I hope this review has been helpful and, if so, please share it to help out my website.

    1. Thanks for the information. There are so many advisers who claim to give you the best way to make money, even a fortune, at a price. ! Often reduced to get you hooked. I expect some or at least one may be able to help but this one seems no better. Not Joining.

  1. Bro I am so appreciative of this review you laid everything out I need to know I will keep investing the traditional way!

  2. Thanks Kyle,
I Found this very helpful as I’m just thinking about getting into Stocks and trading. I wasn’t quite sure who online to really listen to . Or if it was a scam?
    thanks much appreciated Diane

  3. I made the mistake of giving the site my email address to get a “free” report. Now I get 2-3 junk emails a day. I’ve requested to be removed form their distribution list 5-6 times, but nothing has changed. The over-hyped messages keep coming. It’s so unprofessional I can’t believe anyone spends money on their site.

Anyone who has to market this hard, obviously isn’t succeeding with their own trade ideas.

It’s a complete scam. Stay away.

  4. Kyle.

Glad I hopped on your web page. So I’m in the middle of watching a Jeff Clark webinar. I guess they all say they have the best trading strategy to reel you in. I haven’t made my decision whether to sign up with him or not.

So far all the webinars from different traders seem to point fingers on options. Okay, good!

I have two questions for you, Kyle:

    1. Bottom line, is Jeff Clark, in you own opinion, a good adviser to sign up with to grow
    ones funds or not?

    1. Hi Sidney. I have not heard of this website before, but I’ll have to put it on my list of future sites to look into more.

  5. Kyle,

Good review but you are not accurate on the no refund. I subscribed to Jeff Clark Trader and Delta Direct and decided to opt-out of both within the 90 days. My credit card was credited immediately for the subscription.

If you invest in The Breakout Alert, as I did, you would be correct that a refund is not possible. You can transfer to another service.

The positive is that I have more than recovered my investment in The Breakout Alert within a month’s time. On the other hand, the recommendations of late have not performed as expressed by Jeff. Most of the recent recommendations are significantly underwater. His pitch makes it sound like The Breakout Alert is a quick win in a short period of time. Not so much as of this writing.

  6. so, Kyle; would you recommend a program that actually works. I am trading stocks, but I have bee very interested in Option trading. Let me know your thoughts please. Thanks for the review, I found it very helpful.

  7. thank you for your review. Do you know that if you sign up with TD Ameritrade they give you free training. You just have to open an account even with a hundred dollars. Yes Options are a great way to make and lose money. you just have to be careful.

  8. I bought a lifetime membership to his services some years ago, after Stansberry Research no longer kept him on their team of advisors. During his tenure at Stansberry, his game was good. So I signed on with him even after he went solo. Things changed for the worse rapidly. Over the past couple of years, the trades I made using his advice were mostly losers. Due to his poor performance, a scanty number of suggested trades, and high annual ‘maintenance’ fees, I abandoned my lifetime membership, forfeiting a huge initial investment in his service. Continuing to pay his high annual maintenance fees has been throwing good money after bad. Another issue to bear in mind: their customer service is worse than bad.

  9. I stupidly signed up for a lifetime subscription but then called to cancel it after 5 days after I got a scam sounding pitch from his buddy teeka tawari. Sure enough they canceled the $1590 lifetime something but I got NO REFUND. THEY JUST KEPT THE MONEY!!!! Still trying through the SEC TO GET MY MONEY BACK. THEY TOOK THE MONEY AND PUT IT TOWARDS SOME OTHER SERVICE NOT WORTH $1590. SO BE VERRRRY CAREFUL AND BEWARE OF GIVING THIS TURKEY ANY MONEY!!!!!! ITS OPTIONS TRADING AND THE VAST MAJORITY OF PROPLE LOSE MONEY.

  10. Came across this yahoo yesterday via an email pitch, and as always "too good to be true" usually = scam. If these guys are so successful, why bother double down on your trades and enjoy life, but they sell subs because their system does not work and the only way they can make money is to sell useless newsletter subs and training.

Thank you for providing a link to his stated trading results, and wow, what a complete disaster. So I compiled and analyzed the results from his posted results since 2019, and it is a total losing proposition.

On long trades he returned -4%, short trades -39%, and combined long and short his results from 2019 to today is a stellar -14%, what a piece of crap. You could have just bought QQQ and bein the money.

So yea, yet another fucking scam. STAY AWAY! I have a spreadsheet that I can share so you can see for yourself. How do these guys not get charged with fraud or being an unlicensed stock promoter ? Next…
